Concentrix Consumer Survey results highlight trust gaps, consumer perspectives, and regulatory expectations for Agentic AI

NEWARK, Calif. (May 29, 2025) – Concentrix Corporation (NASDAQ: CNXC), a global technology and services leader, today announced findings from its independently-conducted survey of 1,000 U.S.-based adults, designed to reveal consumer awareness, sentiment, and expectations surrounding Agentic AI.

The survey revealed that despite growing industry buzz, consumer awareness of AI remains limited – only 31% of consumers are familiar with the concept of Agentic AI. The research underscores both consumer curiosity and skepticism, particularly in high-stakes industries such as healthcare and finance, while pointing to the continued importance of human interaction, transparency, and regulatory guardrails.

Key findings include:

  • Awareness & Industry Comfort Levels – Comfort varies significantly by industry. 28% of consumers are comfortable with agentic AI in healthcare and 29% in banking and financial services. In contrast, higher comfort levels were reported in retail and e-commerce (44%), technology and consumer electronics (46%), and travel and tourism (43%).
  • Trust Still Depends on Humans – While AI adoption is accelerating, 76% of consumers say they trust brands more when a human answers their questions. 60% prefer some level of human involvement, while only 8% are comfortable with fully autonomous AI support.
  • Demand for Guardrails – Consumers want stronger regulations where stakes are highest. 34% demand the strictest regulations in healthcare and 29% in financial services, citing concerns about data misuse (65%), loss of human oversight (63%), and bias in decision-making (56%).
  • Privacy & Transparency as Trust Anchors – Top drivers for consumers to develop trust in AI include transparency in decision-making (66%), assurances of data privacy (63%), and the ability to override AI decisions (61%). 12% of respondents said they had no concerns about AI in sensitive industries.
  • Polarization on the Future of Work – Views remain divided on AI’s workplace impact: 41% believe agentic AI will positively transform the future of work, while 34% anticipate negative outcomes, citing risks such as job loss, decreased job satisfaction, and over-reliance on technology.
